Default What brand o2 sensor??

Well I just got 2 codes...P0131 , P0151 seems to be both front o2 sensors at the same time?? The car is a stock 98 z28 with 253000 miles on it, I've been hearing what seems to be an exhaust leak but went to 2 different Midas shops and they can't find anything wrong. I am going to be replacing the sensors I guess but can't decide which brand is good for my car can anyone tell me what is good? Thanx and any thoughts on the exhause leak sound would be great.

Denso..........These are what GM uses now for their own 02 sensors at the dealerships. But they charge upwards of $180 each. Scumbags............

$47 last time I looked.
www.rockauto.com

Amazon has them too.

Denso are the best get them from rockauto.com for a good price. As far as the exaust leak you would have to listen for it. Do you have any idea where it is coming from? As far as front, middle or rear of the car.

Actually when I come out of my driveway and one wheel comes down before the other it sounds like it is coming from the front driver side but I can't pin it down. I put my hand everywhere i can without getting burned and cannot feel any air. This has got me stumped. I was thinking maybe there is somth wrong with the cat but?????

You might have to put it on a lift, start it, and light a cigarette up and see if the puff of air from the leak puffs the smoke. I had a tiny leak that nobody could find because it was coming from the clamp and puffing out along the pipe and when we checked with our hands we couldn't touch the hot collector so we couldn't feel the puffing air. My welder friend lit up a cigarrette and instantly found it.

But you have two 02 sensors on each side going bad.......do you think you have leaks on both sides too......coincidentally.

No it's only on one side. When I punch it getting onto the highway I can hear it very clearly. Maybe it is coming from the o2 sensor? I'm going to replace the two fronts and see what happens. I feel like I am losing power also but I have read that the o2 sensor can do that.

because they are better or because they cost less and still meet minimum requirements? we never know as laymen why they go with one vendor over the other. i wish we had a good way of knowing, cause i heard(saw) in another thread NGK was best. idk.

i work at a shop, so i just warranty them out on my car when they go bad, cause the cheapos i get never outlast the warranty lol.
