Default Parking/front turn signal indicator light

Last night, I noticed in a reflection that when I start my car, one of the parking/front turn signal indicator lights isn't on. But, when I turn on the headlights, it lights up. Why is that? Bad relay or something?

bad contact or bad bulb. Pull the bulb check to see if both filaments are intact, if so plug bulb back in to see if it was a bad contact. I've had the pins break inside the plastic housing that caused the same thing to happen.

Why would that matter? Clearly, the bulb and socket work. Why does it turn on when I turn on the headlights and go off when I turn them off?

There are two filament in the bulb one for your running lights and one for your daytime running lights.

I see. I think I have an extra bulb lying around if one of the filaments is bad.

Those DRLs melted my Firebird's small housings over time. So I modded mine. There's a PC Board in a box behind the radio that if you solder two connections together and the lights stay off with headlight switch to off and blink on for the turn signal. No point in those lights staying on every second you have the car on.

True, but it doesn't hurt anything either, and he could end up screwing up more things than he had wrong in the first place.

When the DRL are on, one of them is brighter than the other. And it always alternates.
