Oil pump replacement by removing oil pan?
Is this possible to replace the oil pump by removing the oil pan? Is there a write up on this procedure. I searched but did not come up with any results. I have to replace my oil pan because I broke so figured since I'm in there I might as well throw a melling oil pump or something similar. Just wondering though if this is possible by just removing the pan and not the front cover. Thanks

Got into a little itty bitty accident this past friday which landed me on top of a trailer full of wood etc which broke my oil pan and rack and jacked up my k member too. Lets say lesson learned and applied. Going with a tubular k member and replacing oil pan. Guessing while I'm in there I'll change out the o ring to make sure that the o ring was not the cause of my 10 psi pressure at idle. If thats not it oil pump will be swapped.

Yeah, as stated above is correct. I would replace the pump and o ring while I was in there. I would also buy a pulley installer from the tool section to reinstall the balancer.
