when you say he crashed it on the driver door, what exactly do you mean? there's a possibility that he damaged the dash harness, which could possibly create a problem with the bcm/vats

When he wrecked it crushed the rocker panel in. I think that is what you would call it. Its under the door the frame under the door. The dash compartment seems ok but the door wiring harness is messed up,so i may need to unplug it huh. What is bcm/vats? Oh and i forgot one more thing. When he hit it knockedthe rear coil spring off on the right. I didnt know if there is a sensor on the rear to keep it from cranking. Thanks for the info

If it's a VATS issue, there won't be spark. Check your fuel pressure, it needs to be 58psi while cranking. A fuel line may have been crushed. Check fuses underhood as well.

Is there a kill switch on our cars? A previous car that I had suffered a side impact like that, then wouldn't start, and I finally learned it was due to a kill switch in the trunk. Like I ever would've figured that out...

No. No kill switch. I've seen some pretty mangled cars start right up.
