Default This annoying belt.

So listen, about two weeks ago my serpentine belt ripped off in the middle of a left hand turn. I immediately parked the car and walked up to discount auto parts and got a new one. Now this one just won't stop squeaking, and I've put belt coating on it too and it still squeaks. What should I do? Also, remember I'm 16 so my knowledge on car parts is pretty limited..
Thanks.

Pull the belt off and check each pulley. Do they rotate freely by hand?

It could also be the A/C belt pulleys. Take that belt off and check those pulleys too.

If you find one that is tough to rotate, it should be replaced.

If money is tight, you can temporarily fix it, like this:

but I would replace it as soon as possible.

I'll try that, I have an extra idler pulley laying around here somewhere, hopefully that will be the one. I appreciate it!

Um. Yeah I just replaced my drive belt. It's all good now, no squeaks although it was a pain in the *** because I kept the air lid on.
