I've run into a issue with my passenger window.

I put the window up, it gets to a point and it stops. You let off of the button for a little bit, press the button again and it finishes going up.

It hasn't become a consistent problem yet, today was only the second time I've had it do this and it seems the two common factors going on at the time is that it has been real hot outside and I'm pretty sure the car was not on both times.

Is this a situational issue, is the motor starting to go, or is it a power issue the AutoTrix kit could help?

read this. Tis all I know.. Also I notice if I keep to rolling each side by itself starting with the driver I don't have these issues. Prolly cuz they run through the same circuit and overheat when you use em together...

There is also a tread (which I can't seem to find) where you can replace a small electrical component with a heavy wire and the issue would stop. I guess this component is installed to prevent people cutting off their fingers in the windows. As long as you are ok with doing that it should fix your issue.

Here is the link Alex L was talking about. It jumps the resistor strip and suposedly helps with the constant stopping, I did it to my drivers window yesterday but havent got to my passenger window yet(which wont make it all the way up without my help, starts and stops)

You should not use the window until you are ready to fix it. The problem will just get worse and worse until its 100% unresponsive.

Heat is the issue. The thermal cutoff in the motor heats up when it senses that the window is all the way open/shut. As it goes bad, it will be sensitive to heat.

Bypassing the thermal cutoff will overstress the doors. Autotrix is just a band aid for a crappy motor. If you are going to keep the car for a while, (or even not) you'll find that getting a new lifetime warranty motor will be the path of least resistance/cost. (BTW - You'll want to get the new Doorman design.)

You need a new regulator and motor. (some places sell just the motor itself, you do NOT want that).

As far as not having to do anything to it again for a while, is a brand new regulator and motor the best option?

Advance has the motor/regulator together for $125, that about right?

Just get a new motor - don't need the regulator.

I guess I will go the new motor route. 40-50 bucks doesn't sound bad to fix the problem.

You can do the autotrix without a new motor, it works great!

It may, but it won't last unless you replace that regulator.
