mysterious rattling/vibrating sound

mysterious rattling/vibrating sound ok this has been driving me crazy, i hear it at lower speeds starts when it goes into 2nd.
it goes away, though sometimes it comes and goes. sounds like what a heat shield or a cat shield would sound like if it was loose. i took off the passenger heat shield by the headers and it still makes the sound.
^ after just doing that i went to my corner to see if it still made the sound, sure enough it did, so i reverse (made the sound as i was going backwards) and went back in my driveway for a temporary defeat.
i'm going to go insane with this, anyone have any idea?
