Default Having problems starting when hot! HELP!!

I'm so sick of this issue and i have tried absolutley everything i can think of already!? Maybe someone that has had this issue can give me some advice. Things tried already:

New starter
Brand new 1000 CCA Battery
Heavier gauge wire to starter
Heavier gauge wire from battery to Alt
Grounded/Double grounded and regrounded!!
New high output Alt.

Mostly the situation happens when its warm or hot. Car cranks very slow and even the battery loses power to memory like the clock in the radio. Even if i have my tech II on it while i crank it will shut it off! Car has 13.8 volts to the starter, Alt. and even the fuse block stud. It ALWAYS starts but just cranks slow as hell. Once running it's at 14.0 volts. What have i missed guys!?? I'm at my witts end with this thing...............

P.S. My battery has been relocated to the rear

Did you do voltage drop testing on the cables while cranking hot?
Ground straps still in place?
What size cable did you use to relocate your battery?

1 gauge wire all the way back and a cazillion grounds from chassis to motor to ground! I've been reading about this relay deal someone found. It doesn't really make sense because the starter gets it's power from the big power wire from the battery? But i guess i'm open to try anything at this point!??

are you running headers? this sounds like heat soak, you could try wrapping the starter with heat shield material. you could also wrap the headers or the exhaust next to the starter, ive done this with headers but the wrap material rotted my headers out from getting wet. this was before all the fancy coatings and while they werent cheap, and of course im kinda assuming your running headers.

Yes, i am running headers. It does turn somewhat slower with it cold also but not as bad. I tried the starter relay deal someone else had posted but it did nothing. I'm starting to thing my power wire isn't big enough from the back forward. I have 2 awg and i would thing that would be enough but maybe not!??

Your starter current path is from B+ to starter solenoid,
through starter to block, from block to B- through the
black cable that bolts into the block close by. Have you
pulled and wire-brushed that? Maybe get some of the
electrical contact glop they use for aluminum house
electrical panels to keep from corroding.

My OE cables just went to **** from battery juice attacking
the crimped connection up at the battery end, you'd have
to look inside the boot to see. I guess you replaced the
wires separately?

IDK 1 gauge is not the greatest specially over the length.
Always used 00 gauge for a relocate.
But I agree you should also check the ground connections between the battery & the block.
But anyway look here

Bingo! This was it. The power cable was just 2 small for the length. I went 2/00 AWG and it fires right off!

Wish I had seen this thread sooner. I'm planning on a battery relocate for my Charger and I was told to use 00 gauge also. Glad you fixed it 'OP...
