Default help please!

So today i replaced both turn signal sockets and converted front signal bulbs to leds with an electronic flasher (triton el12). Everything worked fine for about 5min, all lights would light up etc, but when i tried to start my car it would not turn over. The only thing that turns on are the headlights and nothing else. I was thinking it could be VATS but I need more input. Any ideas? Car is a 98 Trans Am.

I have a 1998...do we have VATS...... lol

If so, I don't think mine ever worked......

I also have the LED blinker bulbs and the EL12 flashers. I put them all in and they've been good for over a year now.

Default Fixed!

well I got my car running after replacing the Gauge fuse in the interior fuse block! Does anyone know why that would cause the car not to start?

1998 F-Bodys won't run without the gauge cluster in it......so I can see some 1998's not even being able to start up with that fuse being bad. Carry a spare with you, I do.......My engine will barely stay alive without the cluster installed.....if I put it in gear or touch the gas pedal it will stall. My engine coughs, backfires and sounds like its coming apart without the cluster installed. 99+ year F-Bodys can drive around fine without their gauge cluster installed.

Why this is.....no idea.

Oh...1998 engines will also barely be able to idle with a bad or failing coolant temp sensor....so carry a spare one of those with you too. If it fails you cannot drive the car.
I broke mine off in the block by accident and figured I'd drive around till my new one came in the next day.......no way. Same symptoms as not having a gauge cluster....the engine barely ran.

1998 PCM's are finicky little bastards...............

thanks for the info! it's ridiculous that one little fuse can keep your car from turning on. well at least it was something minor. lol
