Default Embarrasing but I gotta ask....radiator cap removal.

OK, I don't see what I'm doing wrong here on the radiator cap....is this thing child proof or something? I can't get the damn thing off and before I damage anything I thought I better come on this forum and ask. Oh, it's a 2001 Firebird LS1....Thanks.

Push it down then turn it it will lock then push it down again and turn itand.it.should.open.then first time u turn it.it will.feel loose but it will be lock it.just to release pressure and protect.u when u turn.it.again it.should open

with mine you have to turn it till it stops moving then turn it the other way a tiny bit to get it off
