Ever since we bought our Trans Am, it's had this winding sound. We took the car anyway because it did not affect performance. It is an auto tranny.

Everytime I accelerate, it winds up and when it deccelerates it sounds like it winds down. Please see the video. You might not hear it very well since you can hear it better in person, but you can hear the winding when acceleration starts.

Rear gears whining? The person who installed your gears probably just got the lash off by a hair and that is why you'll hear the whining sound. Thats how it is in mine anyways.

It was very hard to hear the noise. It sounds almost like a tire noise to me.
