any tips on doing rear main seal and the cover gasket?

I bought a spare to do it when I had time.
This was also in case I messed anything up, my car wouldn't be down.

With the new seal in the spare rear cover, it was simple. remove the tranny and swap covers.

did you replace the cover gasket? or just do a rear main seal?

I replaced the cover gasket too.

No point in doing one and not the other since the tranny is already off.

did you put RTV on the cover gasket too? same do and some dont.. and does yours leak? some ppl have had problems

i wouldnt put rtv on the cover gasket, it will seal if you clean the surface good, just pout some at the corners where it meets at the oil pan, thats where youll get a leak forsure if you dont.
