Default Surging idle when high fans come on

Recently replaced temperature sensor and wiring to the sensor. Whenever the car warms up and the fans kick on the idle starts to surge from 2k to 800. SES light says coolant temperature sensor again

Surging is usually and air leak, but your statement about high fan might be extra info. Usually surge is from none metered air and by chance is an emission solenoid opening up and there is a leak?

I don’t think so. I’m guessing this is just the safe/limp mode for the failing coolant temperature sensor
