Default Loud noise from driver window

I went to put my windows down earlier today and all of sudden the driver side sounded like burst from an AK and hardly going down and then when it reached a point it would go down all the way smooth. It goes up perfectly fine though. Has anyone expierenced this? im going to pull the door off when i have a chance and see whats going on?

Door motor coming loose from the regulator. You'll want to refrain from operating it until you can get in there, look and confirm. When the two come loose, the gears pop out of place.

What do you mean its a new motor? Did you replace the motor and regulator together?

Typically, this happens when a replacement motor has been attached to the regulator with nuts and bolts. (From the factory it comes riveted.)

Ya I replaced the factory one with a new one from AutoZone a while back when my passenger side started going out. And ya its held on with nuts and bolts.

Ahhh - Sorry. I thought you said there were NOT holes drilled in the skin. (I misread your comment.)

Just replace the bolts one-by-one with thread locker. Or better than that - you might use nylock nuts. (I'm not a thread locker fan due to the mess.)

You'll also want to use a mirror and make sure the regulator gear rack isn't too chewed up. (Otherwise, you'll need a new reg = not fun to replace.)

That's definitely it, then. You should be careful and not use the window if you can stand it. Everytime you hear that noise, damage IS being done to the gears.
