Angry PLEASE somebody help me fix this piece of ****

Haha well at least i got you guys to click on it...anyways i need some quick expertise from you guys. i Have a '94 Firebird 3.4 L yea i know piece of **** but im having problems with my heat. About a year ago i put a new thermostat in it for ***** and giggles...heat worked fine then i also had to replace a rusted out freeze plug on the front of the block so i had the water pump housing off and gaskets replaced because it was in the way. Anyways the floor dash and defroster all will blow so they are working but it NEVER warms up its complete outside air. Ive heard everything it could possibly be but i want to narrow down to what it might be. I checked today after driving the two lines that go through the firewall to the right of the computer and the left was cool/cold and the right was warm. There is no coolant on pass. floorboards so i think the heater core is fine but may be plugged. I dont know whether or not its a vacuum line or what to look for. Cooling system does have proper coolant levels, i dont know what it could be. Also, idk if this is related but my Temp. gauge always sits right at 160 and never fluctuates, and when i changed the T-stat last year it always ran at like 190 degrees, except the other day, parked i noticed the temp started to rise from idling a while. Another thing is back in the summer my A/C blew but was not cold anymore...can this be related? all i know is it sucks driving to class every morning not being able to feel my fingers. I would be so thankful for any input as to what you guys think it might be. hopefully someone can help! thanks a lot

Try flushing out the heater core. Take the heater hoses off. Run water from a garden hose sprayer through one side until it come out clear and run it through the other side. Do ths a few times until it is clear water runnng through both sides.

Good luck

I agree, flush out the heater core.

Also, I'm guessing you put an aftermarket t-stat in last year? 160 is low and will reduce your heat levels in my opinion. I would get an AC Delco t-stat (factory temp one) and put that in.

I had to do the same to mine often too. I'd recommend pulling the heater hose at the pipe and at the intake. Way easy to get to, the whole thing takes about five-ten minutes. Do like stated above flush both ways till clear.

x100 on heater core...

x2 on replacing your thermostat with a stocker. its not a race car, you don't need the engine to be runnin that cool at the sacrifice of quick heat.
