Question How can i make my lifters to stay up while installing a cam...

Im workin on a 06 6.0 liter in my afternoons after work and i got stuck here.....i thought i could stick in sumthing in the sides of camshaft but i dnt think its the same as my 5.3......any help will be appreciated thanks....

It has the holes on the sides of cam but i cant see the lifters from there...???

5/16 metal rods that are a couple of inchs longer then the cam, bend them to a 90 degree for a handle.

its ballsy, but i did this method a few times on my engine...put the cam bolts in,enough to where they thread in, but to where you can spin the cam, and i spin the cam about 20times..it sets the lifeters up in their trays, hold your breath,pull your cam out and install new, takes ME about 30 seconds, lol and its the longest 30 seconds ever! recommended, prolly not,works for me, yep!

you can hear if the lifters are falling back down after spinning the cam. you will hear them tapping the cam as the lobes spin around. take the rockers and push rods out, the spin the cam around quite a few times. as long as the lifter trays arent worn out you should be ok. but like i said, listen for a tapping sound as you rotate the cam. probably done this 10-12 times with no issues.
