Thumbs down Loud squeal when turning

Hi, new here so dont kow if a thread for this is around or not.

I just changed out the brakes on my 1995 Trans AM. While driving it around to do the breakin check i noticed that my car developed a high pitch squeal only when I turn left, or even move the streeing wheel left while driving. Any body ever have this propblem or know how to fix it? Thanks

what parts exactly did you replace? id check the metal clips that hold the pads in, they could be rubbing

Did it squeal before you changed the brakes?

No it did not squeal prior to me doing the brakes. I changed pads and rotors.

Mine does the same thing. I didn't change the pads or anything but did take off the rotors to pull the axels. Didn't squeel before but now it does turning right. I looked at the pad wear indicators and did not see any issues.

the anti rattle springs should keep the pads from resting on the rotor. If you are certain you put them in correctly, just make sure the lug nuts are tight and wait till after you break in the pads, the nosie will ptobably go away on its own.

In addition to checking the anti-rattle hardware, you may want to make sure all the bearing points on the brake pads are lubed properly.

What exactly are the bearing points on the brakes pads?

Every metal part on the brake that touches another metal part should get grease. (Where the pistons touch the back of the pad, where the sides of the pad rub up against the caliper body, where the squeal clips touch the pads, etc.) As long as you don't put grease on the brake friction surface or the rotor - you are good.

If you don't have grease in one of these places, it could be the source of noise. (or... it could also be something else)
