How do you clean fuel injectors?
What is the best method of cleaning fuel injectors?
* add a few onces of acetone to the gas tank?
* seafoam?
* add a commercial fuel injector cleaner to the tank?
* Take it to Jiffy-boob?
My car was running like crap and would throw po300 codes and I went through the ignition, searched for vacumme leaks, plugs, wires, cleaned the MAF sensor, ran some acetone in the tank, etc.
Nothing worked until I took the car for a Jiffy-boob fuel injection cleaning.....best $75 bucks I ever spent.... they say this is supposed to be done annually.... really?

Check out this thread. Its the best one I've come across talking about this stuff: https://ls1tech.com/forums/general-m...eafoam-vs.html
The key point in the thread is that the cleaners are all essentially the same. Naptha is the key ingredient. Its powerful stuff, which can be used to cut asphalt.
So... using any cleaner with Naptha in it should do a good job for you. However, the method of delivery makes a world of difference. For example, if you put it in your tank, you'll need to replace the fuel filter afterwards. If you burn it in a high mileage engine, it could clean out "good" gunk, which is keeping the seals from leaking. (For this reason, many techs will not use the stuff proactively and will only employ it for larger problems that need to be addressed.)

So the 3M product is shot into the injectors through the fuel rail on the intake manifold?
Will the 3M hose fit all cars?
How often should you clean injectors?

the 3M hose connects to the fitting on the fuel rail...........the tire valve lookin thingy........and the other end connects to the can of cleaner.....pull the fuse for the fuel pump...so no gas is flowing thru the fuel rails.....have someone start the car while you turn the valve on the can of cleaner on.......run til the can is empty......sure beats payin someone 100$ for it.........3M sells diff hoses for diff cars
