Default Car acting wierd

OK so i leave my house and get to a stop sign and as soon as i try to move the car doesnt wanna move at all and the rpms just keep going when i give it gas. So i turn it around and go home and pop the hood. WEll about 2in under the cap of the radiator the is a long crack in the black plastic part. And also the check engine light came on. Someone has my programmer so i cant see the code.

dude, idk. the shift solindie could explain the not going into gear, but it should only be one gear. try starting off slow in 2ed and hard in first. if either work then you know its just one gear, if not a vacum leak or air sensor would be the only extrenal reason your car would not go into gear. if not its internal, wich if you drive your car hard the a4 are known for breaking before any other drivetrain parts.

It'll go into reverse and neutral and park it just stays in 1st the solenoids are not expensive. If anything else I can't fix n find the problem. A performabuilt tranny will be ordered
