Grinding or Rough Vibration when foot off gas
Hey all,
I've had this grinding, or a really rough vibration going on under the car for a bit now. It's a 1998 Camaro Z28. I've already done the following in an attempt to fix it:
Everything runs smoothly without issue until I get up to ~50-55mph and then let off the gas completely. I can barely touch the gas and it goes away.
Does anyone have any recommendations? I can't think of what else it could be.
Thanks!

- Fluid change in the Rear Differential. (New gasket, and cleaning too)
- Rear Brakes (New rotors/pads. Cleaned caliper pistons.)
- There was drag before, so I wasn't sure if the noise and the drag were the same issue. Drag has gone away since cleaning the Calipers out.
- Replaced Driveshaft U-Joints (These needed to be replaced anyway)

Automatic. The motor is a rebuilt LS1 (from a 2002 by HKE, if I remember the year correctly) and it's a Rutland built 4L60E... I figure it's elsewhere, but don't know where.

I had considered that, but the car shifts fine without any issues. Seems a bit strange to me that it'd be the converter clutch slipping and the only time any noise occurs is on deceleration. It's quite possible, however; I'm going to give Rutland a call today anyway.
My other thought was the pinion bearing, but I'm really hoping it isn't that.
Could it just be that my pinion angle is off? I put on a new torque arm and after having some strange launches at the track, I went and re-adjusted it.

We're going to pick it up and confirm pinion angle is correct today since we replaced the U joints last night showed no improvement.
The car does have a stock trans mount and a BMR adjustable torque arm and panhard bar, so I don't think it's just normal flex/vibration. Seems like the converter my be next up since it is stock behind a T-Rex cammed motor with a stage 2 tranny.
