Default Seldom used LT1 won't turn over

I have AUTOMATIC 93 Trans Am with 23k on the odometor. The car sits in sotrage and is run oncve a month. It has been in this state for the last 8 years with no problem.........until today.

Key turns, dash lights up, fuel pump buzzes but engine will not even attempt to turn over.

I get no starter clicks or anything.

Battery tested at Advance Auto Parts this afternoon. Results: 12.6 volts with cca's at 617 on a 750 cc rating. They said that was OK.

Replaced the Auto/Nuetral safty switch.....still nothing.

The starter cannot even be accessed as far as I can tell. There's a big ole "Y" pipe in the way.

Can someone advise me and maybe tell me the path to go as far as any electrical testing. I've turned many wrenches in my time but electrical is not my forte....unless it's car audio of course.

I appreciate all your help no matter how little you think your input would be.

thanks.

So you don't hear any clicks when you turn the key? Have you checked the starter relay? Is the security light on?

Check the security light. If it's on, try the spare key. Might have a bad resistor in the one key. Check your relay and fuses. If that's all good, give the starter a good thump then try to turn it over.

It's been a while since I've owned an LT1, but could it be the optispark?

Not the opti if the starter won't even engage. As said above could be your VATS (security light) or just a bad/frozen solenoid on your starter.
