Default 2001 pontiac firebird water leak

When it rains hard I have a leak to where the drivers side gets soaked. I do not have t tops. There is a TSB on water leaks but it does not go about how to fix it http://www.automd.com/tsb/bulletin_b88100/ I have done some searching and on the 93's it was either up by the corner of the window or the seal between the windshield and dash. just wondering if anyone has had the same problem and where/what the leak was? thankyou!

Check for water leaks where the power mirror wires pass through the doors. There is a gasket on the mirror mount and I noticed mine leaked from there and would pour in the car along the wires.

Okay, I took your advice but I had to test that It was coming in from there so I put electrical tape along where the gasket should keep water out and at the bottom of the interior door panel. Turns out it was coming from there. So I am curious what you did to fix yours?

I put silicone on the inside of the mirror wire opening facing the cabin, but I noticed I still got rain in the car the other day. I think the leak is related to the door seal/side view mirror contact point.

There's an easier way to do this. Just ride through a car wash and see where the water comes in.

I sealed both and still got water in, much less water. I think im gonna seal where the windshield hits the firewall so then ill have that, the mirror and the door out of question. very frustrating.

well my dad thought he was gonna do me a favor and take off the wiper arms(while i wasnt around) long story short he broke the windshield. I found the problem tho...someone tried to break in there was a screwdriver pry mark on the weather stripping above the window and it was pulled out so i believe the water traveled down that and into the car. so now im out $250. yippeee.

Most insurance companies will pay for replacement windshields free of your own money

so idk what to think, windshield was not an issue neither was the grating clogged on the plastic piece where the wiper fluid lines run, also the hole by the mirror i filled that with rtv and that didnt do it either. water only gets in when it rains so it is not being caused by any resovoirs or what have you in the engine bay. any ideas?

Have you done the drive-thru car wash test? Many car makers these days use similar rigs in the factory to water test cars before they leave.

okay so the firewall grommets i do not know where they are but the water is running down the windshield and into the car somehow. the water is also dripping straight onto the coil which kinda freaks me out, dripping on the manifold also which cause my knock sensor to go bad this week -_- so heres a pic maybe yall can tell me if this is normal or not
