weird box wired into my car.?? help So doing some upgrades on my car I bought a year ago, and under the passenger front kick panel there is this black box approx 5"x5"x1.5" generic box without any markings. it has a ground going to a screw into the body and 3 other wires that are piggy backed into some wires in the vicinity. Any ideas what it is? its very light and not factory.

Seems like you would need to trace the wires to where they go. Without, there is probably no telling what it does. Unless you disconnect it, and see what performs differently. Gosh, it could be part of an alarm, a kill switch, needle lights... who knows. I have a few of those indiscriminant boxes up under my dash... only I know what they do.

If it's on the passenger side I doubt it is an alarm or killswitch because they would be routed to the ignition. It's powering something if it has a ground, but it could just be some crap off eBay. Trace the wires andthen just disconnect it.
