Default Whining noise in the engine bay

I'm posting this for my brother, car is an 02 SS.

He said it started making this noise yesterday, I've never heard anything like it from any of my cars. It sounds like a Ford. Anybody got ideas what this would be?

Sounds like you may have a dry belt tension pulley or one of the others bearing is worn out...remove the belt and start the engine see if it goes away
