Default 2002 camaro AC issues

I have a 2002 camaro SS with about 110,000 miles. The AC has quit blowing cold air. My compressor and clutch seem to be working. I tried to re-charge the system, but I coud not get it to take any freon. Seems like it may have been fully charged? The air is blowing out the proper vents, just hot.

Any advice?

Thank you.

The compressor is probably bad and has spit metal filings thought your system. That's what happened to mine, when I pulled the orifice tube it was filled with metal shavings. If that's the case with yours I would also replace the condenser as well as the compressor and evorator.

More than likely if you put a set of gauges on it you will see the high side and low side pressures equal. Meaning it has blown valves or a broke crank and it's not pumping.
I would verify then get a new compressor, drier, condenser, and orifice tube and get all new gm parts do not waste your time or money on rebuilt or parts house junk.

^^ Other than adding possible refrigerant contamination, (which causes poor a/c performance, not equal pressure readings) I completely agree.

I put a set of gauges on this morning. 90 on the low, 100 on the high. When I get my new compressor , drier, condenser, and orifice tube, what should my readings be? Thank you for all your input.

it depends on the air temp

but 35-50 on the LOW side
and 155-250 on the High side

that is a rough idea.

but take it to a shop to put a vacuum on it
and charge it for you.

DO NOT DO IT YOURSELF!

weigh in the charge also these cars are sensitive to overcharging and it will cause poor cooling performance.
