98 trans am acts likes it's missing
ok,here what is happening. It's a 98 ta has headers, cai, gears and off road y,and a mail order tune by frost. Drove the car on Monday no problems, took it out Friday and it acted like it was misfiring but if I would give it 3/4 throttle it would be fine until you let off the gass then bogging misfire like again, then it's goes away all together. The ses light came on and it says hi voltage bank 2 o2, low voltage bank 2 o2, But I thought he tuned out the o2s. Any thoughts would be great thanks.

Wondering if you have something electrical going on. When you "tune out" sensors usually it is removing the generic inputs to the SES light so they don't activate it. Everything still works like it thinks it needs to, it just doesn't tell you. He might not have removed those specific inputs because they are not an indication that you get with them either removed or just not seeing a cat. Has anything been done recently? Anything else unusual? Bad weather? Have you looked at all of the grounds?

I don't drive it in the rain, haven't for years but had to about a month ago to get it inspected and I put a newer battery from my father in law but that's all. My radio does turn off all by it self once in a while.

Then I would suggest, both to potentially address this problem, and just as a good maintenance item for the car, that you go through the fuse/relay box and clean up all of the contacts that you can, and then go through the electrical system grounds and do the same.

So I checked all the grounds I could find cleaned the throttle body checked all the plug wires and still the same. Could this be a a coil going bad , a fuel filter? I'm at a loss I replaced the fuel pump about two years ago so I hope it's not that.

Dude.....you need to replace the 02 sensor. You cannot tune the 02 sensors out.....lol.....only the rear 02 sensors can be tuned out, but they are useless anyway. It's the FRONT 02 sensor on Bank 2 that needs to be replaced.
You can get a scan while the engine is running to see if the 02 sensors are switching properly. Needs to be an OBDII scanner.
If it is the sensor.......rockauto.com has the Denso sensors for about $45.00 each. Denso is by far the best. Also search the part number on amazon.com for their price.
And while you're at it......clean your MAF with MAF cleaner spray. DO NOT physically touch the MAF screen or the little sensor wires....just spray the ever-lovin **** out of it. Spray the IAT sensor in the lid too, just drench it. Then the rest of the can spray the **** out of the TB blade.

I've seen 02s make it run kinda crappy, and get poor mileage, but I've never heard of them making the car actually miss.... I'll hold out hope that you've found the issue but I think this is just another "oops" you found while looking for the real problem.
The being fine on warmup is a good sign that it might be the o2. A quick check you could do on that is to unplug your coolant sensor(s), which will keep the car in open loop.
