Default AC Problem in 2000 Z28

Did some searching and couldn't find anything relating to my issue.

When I have my air on in the car, I have no ability to change the direction of where the air is going.

No matter where I put the **** for directing the air (torso, feet, windshield. etc.) it is stuck on blowing the air on my feet and the windshield. The temperature **** works fine and still changes the temp. The AC still blows cold, I just have no way to change the vents it comes out of.

Could this potentially be a BCM issue? Any insight is appreciated, thanks!

Probably a vacuum leak. Mine did the same exact thing. Have you done any recent mods? Mine was the hose behind the intake had come off. May not be your problem but if you have just did some mods, double check to make sure every hose is connected and there are no vacuum leaks.

Haven't done any recent mods to the car, I will check the hose on the back of the intake. If it were a vacuum leak at the intake wouldn't it cause the engine to idle at a higher rpm than normal?

yeah it would, like said it might not be your problem but it usually comes from a vacuum leak. It might be something totally different though..

My brother-in-law's car does the same thing and they were telling him that it was possibly a vacuum leak as well, his car is a Suzuki Forenza. He hasn't had the car sent to have it fixed yet.

it won't be the BCM.
your problem is caused by either the vacuum leak like was described, or you have a bad climate control unit in the dash, or the plenum box inside the dash has little plastic doors that divert the air and those doors can stick or break.
