Default Signs of AC needing recharged?

For a while now my AC has not blown cold air. It does blow hard still and when I am idleing and I turn the AC on my car revs noticeably higher. Is this a good sign that it just needs recharged or is something else still a possibility?

Either recharge or you have a leak somewhere. It sounds like the compressor clutch is still engaging though. Put a gauge on it and see how the pressure is.

Alright, and yea its hard to know if it has a leak right now because it has been over a year since i noticed it stopped working. I didn't use it one winter and when I tried when it got warm it didn't blow cold. Could have a leak somewhere.

Check your compressor and see if it's wet from any compressor oil, that would be the first place to look. But yeah, get a gauge on it and try to get some pag oil with the leak detection dye in it

Drive the car for a while with the a/c running and then use a fluorescent flashlight to see where the leak is if you have one.
