Default interion insulation

I don't know if this is the right section to post this question in but I'm going to give it a shot here. Who has installed aftermarket insulation or sound deadener under the carpet of their car? What brand did you use and how did it turn out? What was the ease of instillation? I have the interior or of my car right now and I'm going to install something to make it a quieter interior.

i did mine recently. dynamat is overpriced. i got some 'roadkill' made by stinger, half the price. i got a 36 sq ft box for 95 bucks delivered. dynamat for that size is 250. install is easy, and it works well on cutting noise. with 36 sqft i did just about everything from front seats back to the rear, doubled in some spots. ive done a couple vehicles and heres what i have learned...
butyl backin like roadkill, zero smell and never comes off
dont wast it on areas that are rounded and solid, use on large flat areas thats where vibration carries noise in.
mass loaded vinly over top will kill lots of noise, but adds lots of weight, lots.
the rear seat and flat rear deck are must be covered well, or its pointless. let me know if i can help anymore i have pics, details, etc

i used raamaudio, their raammat_bxtii and ensolite_ps.
the bxt I bought 3 orders of the 37.5 sqft bulk pack and 5 orders of the 1 yard ensolite.
you don't have to cover every square inch with the bxt and it is not recommended, it is heavy. you could get away with just 2 orders of that, i had some left over and covered quite a bit with it. The ensolite foam I would say you need at least 5 orders of, if you want to do it right get 6 orders or possibly 7. the ensolite foam is what absorbs the sound, the bxt is for stopping vibration. the ensolite is light weight and you want to use as much as possible to absorb sound but be careful under certain places of the carpet and behind the door panels because if there's too much it'll be hard getting trim pieces back on or the door panels back on. the ensolite foam is very easy, just cut it with scissors, peel the backing, and it sticks anywhere.
we just had a heat wave and my interior saw some ridiculous heat and i had no smell at all.
