Default Wired cutout and now dash lights wont go on

Yesterday I installed an electric cutout and wired it to one of the cigarette lighters and the dash lights didnt turn on last night when I went to start the car up. One of the fuses blew (it was a 5 amp, I forgot exactly where it went to) and I replaced it after I noticed my odometer wasnt lighting up earlier in the day. Could where I wired my cutout be causing the lights not to work?

You must have cut or disconnected a wire for dashlights. Retrace ur steps and make sure all is kosher. And nothing is grounding out.

Thanks for the insight. I wired it to one of the cig. lighters so I wasnt near any of the dash lights. I did some research and found that the dimmer/headlight switch might have gone bad. I ordered one off ebay so im homing that solves it.

Forgot to mention in my previous post that when I cut the power wire for the cig lighter it blew the cig. fuse. Dont know if that makes a difference or not.

So just an update. I replaced the switch and it still doesn't work. Now the odometer doesn't light up after I checked a couple of fuses and wiggled the fuse box a little. Ay idea why the odometer won't light up after the fuse box was wiggled a little?

Issue solved. Turned out to be a pinched wire causing a short in the IP Dimmer circuit.
