I wouldn't worry about a quart in 3,000 miles especially on an ls1. I've owned 6 ls1's and they all used oil. Anywhere from a quart every 1500 to 2500 miles.

It's the craptastic PCV system that GM blessed us with. Convert to an 04+ LS6 valley cover and most of the oil usage will go away. Add a catch can on top of that and you will no longer have oil in your TB & intake manifold.

Scoggins-Dickey (among others) sells the LS6 valley cover (and the requisite new 'vapor pipe' and fittings).

Moroso, UPR, and others sell the catch cans/air-oil seperators (but in my opinion these two are the BEST, despite costing more than the inexpensive 'Home Depot/Lowes' solutions everyone else will suggest).

If you PCV system is in good shape and doesn't need replacing then I'd go with a good catch-can first.
IMO, take a look at the Revxtreme, RX catch-can w/ Single Check Valve.

PM sent .
