Power Steering Problem???
So recently I replaced my steering rack because it was leaking. I connected the p/s lines back into the rack and proceeded with the bleeding process. I put the front end up in the air, started the car, and turn the steering wheel from lock to lock about 20 times. I noticed a few small bubbles coming out, until it stopped.
Then I lowered the car back down and noticed it was really hard to turn the steering wheel sitting at idle. Once I got driving/moving it wasn't too bad. Drove it to the alignment shop to see if it would help because I knew the setting were off from replacing the rack.
Its still doing the same thing!?!?!?!.....almost rock solid to turn the steering wheel. I tried the bleeding process again but no more air was coming up through the reservoir. I checked for leaks (besides the oil pan leak) and the rack seems dry, the alternator is spot clean so I assume no dripping from any lines to the pump.
So....could my p/s pump be going bad? What do you guys think it could be?
P.S. It steers fine when normal driving. Its only when at a stand still at idle, or when I'm coming up to a road to make a fast/hard turn it then does it also.

Take the top off the reservoir so you can see the fluid sitting in it.
Point the line down into a catch pan.
Have a friend start the engine and see if the fluid shoots out.........but only for a couple seconds.
That will tell you if the pump is working.

Disconnect the line that's attached to the bottom of the reservoir...low pressure return line.
Take the top off the reservoir so you can see the fluid sitting in it.
Point the line down into a catch pan.
Have a friend start the engine and see if the fluid shoots out.........but only for a couple seconds.
That will tell you if the pump is working.
