Default Is my power steering going bad?

Whenever I turn the wheel close to all the way in either direction, it will groan, I'm assuming its the PS. The further I go, the more groan, and if I turn the wheel as far as it goes and then add more pressure, it groans a good bit louder.

Not sure where to start with this.

I would start by checking and flushing your P/S fluid. The pump could be going out, but new fluid may be enough to keep it happy for a while longer.

You are overloading the pump when it starts groaning. If you can make whatever turn you are making without going full lock, then just make the turn.

The new pump will groan a little bit at full lock, and when you get to trying to go further, the pump is trying to push more fluid, but there is no where for it to go.
