Default 2002 Trans Am headlight question

Hi there,

I noticed that whenever I use the remote to lock or unlock the car the headlights open / close for a second (without the headlights turning on). Is this normal? coz I was thinking what's the point of the headlight open / close if the lights don't come on.

another question, should the headlight door open on when I turn on the first switch or the second ( which turns on the headlights)?
