had oil leak, now mysteriously its gone! took my car(2000 TA) for inspection about 6 weeks ago, had my mechanic change the oil while it was there, about a week later started seeing an oil leak(mainly noticed it when warming up the car) from underneath what I could tell it was coming from the backside of the engine on the passenger side, looked like a drop of oil every 5 sec. I checked the oil level and it was just above the crosshatched area, been keeping an eye on it and here 2 weeks ago I looked underneath and no oil leak, checked the level again, and it was right in the middle of the crosshatched area, checked yesterday and same thing right in the middle and no oil leak. Weird.

Probably was leaking oil out of a spot in the rear main seal.......because he could have overfilled the oil. When it leaked down enough, now the oil level or oil splashing when the engine is running cannot reach that part of the rear main seal to leak out.
