Default Car down on power please help

My Camaro is feeling really weak on power, can't even break the tires loose from anything above 15mph (barely spins from 10mph...) where as my stock Formula could do it from 30mph no problem...

It's on crappy Hancook tires and the only rear suspension mod is an adjustable panhard bar. Idk how much of a traction improvement this should make. Mods in sig, guesstimating 340-345whp is what it should be at in terms of power.

The car is doing fine on mpg so I don't think its a failed o2 or spark plug issue or any of the more common stuff since running rich and bad mpg are associated with all the other similar threads I looked at.

It picks up and goes ok, but it freaking hooks and I don't understand how it does that on the street and it's really worrying/upsetting me. It's hard to really tell how low on power I am from the butt dyno but I feel like theres more in her. I just don't get how my Formula can spin so much from low speed hits and the Camaro doesn't. Could the slightly barely better suspension of the SS make a traction difference over the Formula? It drives great during normal driving. Can anyone here help?

I also have the infamous brake/abs/asr light issue that I have no idea how to fix, it's had it since I got the car but not sure if it could all of the sudden affect performance.

if your car feels like its down on power it honestly can be many things that can cause that to happen. Only thing i can tell you is clean your MAF with MAF Cleaner, also pull a couple of plugs and see what they look like. Goodluck with it.

Have you done the simple things....
Fuel filter
Spark plugs
Check spark plug wire resistances for one that is high

All that stuff has was checked today along with o2s, and a bunch of other sensors. Had it scanned and data logged and nothing unusual came up. Everything looks good, thats why Im really stumped its not any of the more common thins.

This could be due to many different things, but my car had the same symptoms. Turned out to be a bent intake valve.

I'm doing this today. Could just be all in my head. If it makes good numbers then the mystery will be to figure out why it hooks so good on the street...

How many miles does the engine have? How is the oil consumption?

well just a longshot issue that happened 2 me years ago, after new cam install (ls6 whoohoo) my car was throwing a code & way down on power. turned out to be a tiny wire coming off the back of the intake sensor going to the computer broke. cost $100 to find & fix. cheers goodluck!

Well thanks for the responses. The problem has been sourced to a fuel issue that is almost certainly the fuel pump. Fuel pressure drops a ton at wot and the car makes a ton of torque but no power and really just falls off after 4k rpm (280whp/362wtq). AFR was up at 16:1. Replaced the fuel filter and no change so the fuel pump is next.

Holy cow -- something is definitely awry with the fuel pump there.

While you have things pulled apart I would also install a hotwire kit for the pump. Another thing to think about was my roommate was down on power having fuel issues at WOT and it was a combination of a dying pump and a dying alternator, the car would drop to 11-12 volts on the gauge above 4500rpm.

May want to look into that as well
