When driving I cannot hear it, but at idle I can. I'm not sure if that's considered loud.

No, it's actually quite easy to remove. It's right behind the black kick panel above the passenger side floor. Then the motor comes out with just three screws from what I remember.

Yeah mine is pretty noisy on high, but once you get up to highway speed it kinda gets drowned out.

Do you have a lot of squirrels where you live??
My fan was making a LOUD vibrating type of noise about 3 years back, and it turns out that the local tree rats were using the 'squirrel cage' fan as an acorn vault!!

The imbalance made it crazy loud, and killed it's volume capacity.
I cleared it out, put some dryer sheets, and cedar chips all around the interior and under the hood, and repellent all around the car.
problem solved.

How do you go about removing the kick panel where its attached to the firewall? It has some kind of weird thin piece of metal holding it and im afraid if i pull that metal off i wont hold when i reattach it, is this true or am i just being a douche?

Easy as can be to open and get to. Likely has a bunch of leaves in it like mine did. I forget about the kick panel, maybe it was push in clips? Dunno, but the blower is held in by 3 bolts. Just hold the thing up while you remove the bolts so it doesn't drop down on you or whatever. Oh, and unplug it first.
