Default Oil Pressure problems at Idle or stop

I went in to get my oil change a few days ago and when I left everything was fine for a few miles, then when I came to a stop at a light, my oil pressure just drops down to zero. So I took it back to the shop and they said that I had a leak on my Oil Level Sensor and so I had them change it out. Still, same deal. could it be the oil that I'm running causing this or maybe even my oil pump? I need help, not familiar with the LT1 completely yet. Where should I go from here. By the way, the car isn't running bad at all, and I see no leaks anywhere.

Your Oil Level Sensor (located on the Oil Pan) and the Oil Pressure Sensor (located behind the Intake Manifold) are two very different things.

Install a mechanical Oil Pressure Sensor to confirm your actual oil pressure.

If the engine has normal oil pressure, then the issue is a sensor or wiring; but if the engine does not have normal oil pressure, then the issue is your oil pump.

Good luck!

You could also try changing the filter and see if that corrects it, might have a bad one.

Do the LS1s' oil pumps/pressure relief valves 'like' any certain brand of oil filter, or type/material of ADBV over others??

I use Amsoil EaO 64s, and NAPA/Wix Platinums, and they both seem just fine.

^^^This I knew a LONG TIME ago, except that the Ultras are not that bad, especially for 8 bucks and change at China Mart. OCOD (Orange Can Of Death )

Are any of the premium/top drawer filters better than the others as far as oil pressure goes??
