Default Fuel in oil, injector problem?

Have a 97 TA with lt1. Had fuel in oil so changed it. Car not firing on #8 cylinder, unplugged injector with no change. Changed plug and checked for spark from wire all looks good. Seem to be getting fuel on plug but still no change in the cylinder when I unplug the injector. Could this be a bad injector, ring, or a valve? First time with lt1 so I'm trying to figure this out on my own. Any help would be appreciated. Also car only gets a little white smoke upon high rev but not all the time.
