Default Steering rack

Hello I have a 2000 trans am m6. My question is will the steering rack out of a 94 formula a4 fit in my car. I know there are some similarities between the two cars. But more that is not similar. My buddy has a low mile formula with heavy rear end damage but rack is perfect. Mine is leaking. And wondering if I can use the rack out of it for my car. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

short answer NO, the LT1 Rack connection (where it bolts to the steering coupler) sits in a different location and a different angle so you would have to use the LT1 steering coupler and that won't clear your exhaust manifolds, this is the reason it was redesigned was to allow the LS1 to fit, if you where a V6 then yes you could use it as they kept the same LT1 style rack and coupler.

If you where going the other way 2000 rack onto 94, that could be done but needs the coupler as well.
