Default Car loses power at 2500rpm's

The car is a 2000 ss with 44,xxx miles. If I slowly accelerate and hit 2500 rpm the car bogs down but gets the power right back. I just ordered plugs and wires since I want to give the car a tune up. Any ideas???

Yes, clean the MAF. Many issues like this, at that specific rpm range, are due to dirty MAFs.

Also check for minor exhaust leaks. Bad 02 sensor reading can cause the car to stumble
