Daylight lamps
I have a trans am. My driver side daylight lamp has not worked for about two years. I finally got the panels off from below and went to change the bulb. There was orange yellow goo around the base of the bulb when I removed the old bulb. This goo was within the contact points as well.
I cleaned it was well as I could. Put in a new bulb.
But it didn't work.
Do you guys think I have to change the entire unit or is there some other solution.
Thanks.

With the bulb removed, turn on your parking lights and hazard lights. Probe the wires with a test light or volt meter. Look for flashing 12v on the light blue wire, and constant 12v on the brown. Black one should be ground at all times. If you get these results, the socket needs more cleaning, or it's toast.
