Ebrake doesn't lock?!

Default Ebrake doesn't lock?!

Pulled my carpet, so the interior is completely out. It worked fine before so Im thinking I hit something.
The handle still has the tension it used to and the release button still feels like it should; just doesn't lock in place.
Mine is a T56 so I really need it fixed asap and would like to do it before putting the interior back in.

The mechanism that holds the handle in place is at the base of the stick. Just make sure it is engaging the teeth in the ratchet mechanism under the center console.

I believe that's what it isn't doing. It doesn't give that classic ebrake sound. I hear nothing actually.

If you hear nothing, then maybe the ratchet spring sprung or came off? Gotta get eyes on it.

Since everything is off I could look at it pretty well. Just dont know what Im looking at. Do you have a diagram?
