Throwing codes P0171
P1133
P0420
P0134
Smells like freshly popped fireworks coming from the exhaust . I just replaced the 02 Sensor after the cat and problem is still there

I was getting the 1133/1153 codes, and I just replaced the two FRONT (pre-catcon) O2 sensors.
So far the SES light, and both the pending and permanent codes have stayed away.
To me, the NOX laden, lean smell from the pipe is not all that much different from a 'pig rich' exhaust smell.

P0420 is a bad cat or NO cat (if you or a P.O. gutted the cat), it is triggered by the post cat o2 sensor (and is the ONLY thing that sensor does), replace your CAT before you burn something up, if the CAT gets plugged up bad enough it can damage the motor.
the P1133 and P0134 are for the bank 1 o2 sensor NOT the post cat sensor, either it is unplugged (check the wires to make sure they didn't get melted against the exhaust), shorted or DEAD, replace that o2 sensor, then see if that solves the P0171 Lean condition on Bank 1.

Well I didn't think you could but now I looked and have read where you can. The wires are different I think. Someone else will chime in to help you more. At first I said no. Then I edited this because I read where people have.

MOST of the o2 sensors for the LS1 list as being for either the upstream or downstream so you should be able to. whats the part number and brand on the one you bought? and what are the details on your car (year, make, model, motor)?

Been there. Damaged exhaust valves due to a plugged cat on a V6 15 years ago. Left me stranded in the mountains of Tennessee while driving from Illinois to South Carolina. Nothing like paying to swap a motor when they know you're stranded and have no choice
