Default Help! Idle misfire on 2002 LS1

Hi guys,

I have been reading a lot of threads on this issue and have a few things in mind, but I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced the same issue.

Vehicle: 02 WS6.
Mods: lid, LTs, tsp rumbler x
Issue: the car will often idle normally for 30-60 seconds before developing a miss. Once it starts, there is a vibration but no rpm change. I can also smell raw fuel once the miss starts.

Checked already: MAF (clean and new,) O2s are new, no exhaust leaks.

My ideas: bad pcv and/or lines causing a vacuum leak. Engine uses approximately 1qt/1000 miles, so that may be a culprit.

Tune: ordering a flashed pcm from frost today since it is definitely running rich on the stock tune.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

One more thing: the car runs perfectly off idle. No miss under load and it pulls hard to redline. Shows a p0300 random misfire code. No flashing CEL.

Did you just do those mods?

Or are those old and the car just started acting up recently?

I just had this issue on my 02 TA last month. Same code, same issue. Switched the O2s and problem solved code cleared. I have only driven the car about 50 miles since then as its not a DD but so far so good. I have had a few LS1 F-bodies crop up with that code and rough idle. In every instance I experienced this it was an O2. Just my experience....

Important clarification: it only happens after the engine is warm. O2 sensors? Just checked and they are saying slow response.

Yep. The same thing I had, slow response on the O2s. I changed out the O2s and good to go....for the last 50 miles at least. The rought idle stopped and I have not thrown a CEL since.
