Default Help with weird AC belt size!!!

I have a 1998 Camaro Z28 with the LS1 engine.
My AC stopped working and found my AC belt to be shredded.

I threw it out and bought a new one, but the new one is at least a few inches too long and now I don't have the old one to reference.

I tried a couple different brands but all are 41", and that will not fit. It needs to be around 35-37" it seems.

The stock AC replacement belt is 4PK1040, which is a 41" belt.

I had a look at my main serpentine belt to see if it was different then stock. The stock serpentine belt should be K060790 which is 79". The current serpentine belt on the car is a Gates micro-v K060760 which is a 75.8" belt.

Can anyone explain why my belts are shorter than stock?
Can anyone give me an idea on how to find the correct fitting belt?

Thanks in advance!

It likely has a 25% under-drive crank pulley which requires a 76" main belt and 37.8" A/C Belt.

I stock both belts if you can find them locally.

Thanks!

Agree with above post. Check your pulleys to make sure they are stock.

I know this is an old post, but you hit the nail on the head! 37" belt because of the smaller pulley! Thanks for the info, I'll keep you in mind for when I need a new main belt.
