Default Clunk in steering when parked. Tie rods?

Car is not moving and is on acc so the wheel can turn without being locked. Turning the wheel left and right there is a clunk and play before the wheel starts to turn. Just noticed it when I pushed it back into the garage. Car has 63k miles so could and most likely is original. Just drove the car didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. Is this play because of the pump being off or is it worn Tie rods? Rack Bushings? Gonna look at it when i have time this Tuesday, just trying to play guess it in the mean time.

what year? the LT1 and V6 4th gens have a rag joint known to go bad that allows play like that.

Is yours like mine?

on mine it looks to be one of the u-joints in the intermediate shaft.

Could even be your hubs.

If you have a clunk when not moving, I'd get a helper to watch the wheels as you turn them and try to locate the sound. You should be able to see what is going on with someone on the outside of the car.
