Default Car running hot in general

Finished a cam install on the car, and after getting it running and a mail order tune, the car seems to run pretty hot. Using a bluetooth scanner around town it runs anywhere from 220-230 which seems alright considering it was a hot day. However, I did a 3 hour drive at night time the same day and it still ran in the range of 214-226 the whole drive. Seems pretty hot to me considering it was maybe 60 degrees outside and it has a 160 degree thermostat. Any ideas? I've bled the air out of the system, made sure it held pressure at 19 psi and checked for any leaks. Anything else I can check?

Check the tune. What AFR was it running?

Not sure how to check this...would it be an option in the scanner?

Depending on the scanner.

Depending on the scanner.
Not unless that scanner is attached to an actual wideband sensor. Trims can only tell you so much.

Check the thermostat, could be that it's stuck partially closed.

I don't suppose mine can then...I swapped out the thermostat for a brand new 160 degree one just for kicks and it didn't seem to make any difference

Yes and no. While you may not be able to see exact AFR without a wideband, you can see rich or lean and stoic. You can also look at the O2 millivolts, but they swing so much it's hard to use that to find the trend. Lambda or BLM is easier to look at.
