Help me . So this bar that runs from the transmission to the differential broke and no one seems to know the name of it . I really do need help in identifying this part and if I can purchase it anywhere but a junk yard . . It's for a 2001 trans am so I'm here stuck.

That is the torque arm. There are aftermarket options available, or you could locate another stock one used. Not sure if you can still buy brand new OEM ones, but there should be plenty of used ones floating around from those who have gone with aftermarket replacements.

and I hope it goes without saying, but DON'T DRIVE THE CAR till you replace it, the torque arm holds the pinion angle and you can really tear crap up with that twisting around.

Default What type of after market bar?

So what type of aftermarket bar do you recommend if I'm going to do daily driving but also sometimes race ? Something that won't give me issues with turning or issues with uneven roads and so on .

BMR, UMI, are good and I think Founders performance even have one.
The aftermarket bars will help the car a decent amount

They will all work great. If you plan to mod your engine, you can get the tunnel brace mounted type. But if you're just staying stock or full bolt-on, transmission mounted is all you need. It is nice to get the rear mounting OFF of the transmission though......

Most likely I'll modify the engine with time. Only mods coming in are some long tube headers intake it already has and an exhaust system too..
For now I'm going to have the regular bolt in , maybe 2 months from now Ill buy the Part the relocates it off the end of the transmission.

I got this one a few weeks ago. Its good for any amount of power your LSx set up will make....Very nice piece.
