So I have a 1996 trans am and the passenger headlight was making a loud grinding noise when I would flip it up or down. Since it was doing this, I went and bought a headlight motor gear and replaced it. The headlight now pops up and down but when it fully opens or closes, it's like the motor doesn't know to stop so it starts vibrating very fast and making a really loud grinding noise. Does this mean I need a new headlight motor?

You need a new motor, mine did the same a couple of months ago, I ended up having to replace both within a month of each other
